Verdi SDI-12 Telemetry Nodes now read GroPoint multi-depth soil moisture and temperature probes
Release

What's new
The Verdi SDI-12 Telemetry Node now communicates with GroPoint multi-depth probes. Wire a GroPoint probe to the node, and every depth shows up on your Verdi Dashboard next to your valves and schedules. Up to 8 moisture depths and 10 temperature depths, down to 48 inches.
Why it matters
- Set runtime from infiltration: Watch each 15 cm segment respond during an event and shut off when water reaches the root zone.
- Catch over-watering early: Moisture showing up at your deepest segment means water and fertilizer are moving past the roots.
- Keep the probes you already own: Existing GroPoint installs can move onto Verdi with no new logging hardware.
How to get it
Available to any account running a Verdi SDI-12 Telemetry Node. Wire the probe, add it in device config, and it appears on the Verdi dashboard. Talk to your Verdi rep or irrigation dealer about probe options.
Good to know
- Requires an SDI-12 variant GroPoint Profile probe. MODBUS variants are not supported.
- Supported to 48 inches (8 moisture depths, 10 temperature depths).
- GroPoint Profile does not measure EC. Pair it with a single point EC sensor if you track salinity trends.
- Moisture reads in % VWC and tops out near 56%. That is soil holding capacity, not a fault.
- Install with a pilot rod into undisturbed soil. Fall and winter installs give the most settled spring readings.
- Manufactured in Canada.
